MUNCIE, Indiana – The Miller College of Business at Ball State University announced the launch of the Miller Leadership Academy. This new scholarship and support program will provide selected Ball State freshmen with a renewable $ 11,000 scholarship, as well as resources and services focused on the financial, academic and holistic support of underserved students. The academy will host its inaugural class in fall 2022.
Miller Leadership Academy students will be immersed in extracurricular activities that will help them become effective leaders who will be supported in all aspects of their undergraduate experience. Programming will include a summer bridging program, Miller College Living Learning Community, leadership development, professional development, mentoring, academic and holistic support services, immersive learning projects and opportunities. on duty.
“Miller College of Business is very excited to launch this new program,” said Dr Stephen Ferris, Bryan Dean of Miller College of Business. “Miller Leadership Academy will provide these students with the opportunity to learn more about effective leadership that they can bring back to their communities and help build a stronger Indiana. “
All new major business students who are also residents of Indiana, especially those from underserved and historically marginalized populations, are encouraged to apply for the academy. Miller College of Business continues to strive to improve its learning environment through increased diversity.
The Miller Leadership Academy will also look for students who demonstrate the qualities exemplified by Wallace T. Miller Jr., after whom the program and the business college are named. These academics will be some of Ball State University’s most passionate and motivated students, who will set an example of responsible leadership and a commitment to serving others.
