DeForest’s Makenna Clark was among the students who graduated from the University of Iowa. Clark was a student at the Graduate College whose program of study was counselor training. The degree obtained was a Master of Arts.

This spring, more than 5,100 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students from the University of Iowa graduated.

Luther College honors Diedrich

Luther College is pleased to announce that Mathea Diedrich of Deforest, Wisconsin has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2022 semester.

Freeman takes honor from Upper Iowa

Andrew Freeman, a criminal justice specialist from DeForest, has been named to the University of Upper Iowa’s Dean’s List for the 2022 spring semester. To be honored, a student must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the semester and be enrolled as a full-time student.

DeForest’s Benjamin Zeidler earned a Bachelor of Science in Investigative Forensics from the University of Maryland’s Global Campus.

Worldwide, more than 13,600 graduates from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as 32 countries and U.S. territories, earned UMGC degrees in the 2021-22 academic year.

Wollenweber graduates from Bemidji State

Deforest’s Emily Wollenweber earned a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota in the 2021-2022 school year.

Bemidji State University educates people to lead an inspired life. From a serene campus amid the lakes and forests of northern Minnesota, BSU offers a world-class education in the arts, sciences, and select pre-professional programs. Bemidji State’s 4,750 students can pursue studies in 70 undergraduate fields of study and nine graduate programs.

Taylor earns Dean’s List

Mallory Taylor, a 2021 graduate of DeForest Area High School, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at the Colorado School of Mines after earning a 4.0 grade point average.

Local students graduating from UW-Stout

The following area students graduated in May 2022 from the University of Wisconsin-Stout at Menomonie.

UW-Stout, the Polytechnic University of Wisconsin, has 47 undergraduate programs and 24 graduate programs, including a Ph.D. UW-Stout, established in 1891, prides itself on its students’ success in the workplace, with an employment rate of over 97% for recent graduates. The university received the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2001.

Enrollment was 7,670 in the fall. The university graduated 876 undergraduates and 229 postgraduates as of May 2022.

UW-Stout is Wisconsin’s polytechnic university, focused on applied learning, business and industry collaboration, and career outcomes.

Schauf named to Saint Mary’s Dean’s List

WINONA, Minnesota (July 1, 2022) – Congratulations to Joseph Schauf of DeForest, son of John Schauf and Amber Schauf, who was named to the Dean’s List at Saint Mary’s University. The list includes nearly 400 undergraduates who have achieved a GPA of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.

UW-River Falls graduates honored

The following local residents were among 775 students graduating from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls after the start in May. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 681 undergraduate students, while 94 students earned master’s degrees.

Upon graduation, four types of merit awards are recognized:

Senior Merit – Senior graduates who have maintained a grade of 3,500 for their last 60 credits at UWRF.

Cum Laude – Senior graduates with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3,700 for their entire academic career at all institutions.

Magna Cum Laude – Senior graduates with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3,800 for their entire academic career at all institutions.

Summa Cum Laude – Senior graduates with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3,900 for their entire academic career at all institutions.

More than 1,530 students walked across the stage to receive their diplomas at ceremonies this semester – held May 14 at the Whitewater campus and May 17 at the Rock County campus.

The class included 11 international students, 71 military veterans and 200 non-traditional students, defined as undergraduate students aged 25 or older. In addition, 194 students who self-identified as disabled graduated.

UW-Milwaukee names Dean’s List

The following people from the area have been named to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Dean’s List for the 2022 spring semester. UWM is the second-largest university in the state of Wisconsin, with more than 22,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
