The registration process for admissions to the three-year undergraduate specialist courses at the Maharaja Bhupindera Singh Punjab Sports University, Patiala will start from July 20.

JS Cheema (ret), vice chancellor of the university, informed that complying with the directive of Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi to revive sports culture in the state and to train young people in sport, scientific and sports dietician, the registration of three specialized undergraduate training courses for the academic year 2020-21 is underway.
He said the eligibility criteria for admission to the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES) for the general category would be 10 + 2 pass with a minimum passing score of 50% and for SC, ST and OBC applicants. and participants in international and national sports competitions. is 45 percent. Apart from this, the candidate must have a classified sports certificate issued by the sports department of Punjab or other states. Applicants must pass a physical aptitude test to qualify for admission.
âFor the second BSc (Sports Science) course, the eligibility for applicants in the general category is at least 50 percent of passing marks in 10 + 2 (science), while it is 45 percent in the same subject for SC, ST and OBC and participants of international / national sports competitions â, he added.
The Vice Chancellor similarly stated that the third course would be the BSc (Sports Nutrition and Diet). For this course, preference would be given to applicants who have participated in a sports competition at the international, national, state, federated, district and school level. Apart from this, the candidate must have a sports diploma diploma. He said aspiring students can apply online to enroll in these three courses from July 20 to August 20.
