Indore: The first list of merit for admission to undergraduate courses will be released on Monday by the Department of Higher Education (DHE). “The merit list for admission to UG courses offered by government and private colleges will be released on Monday afternoon,” said additional director of the Indore (higher education) division KN Chaturvedi.
Compared to last year, colleges expect higher thresholds, especially since most Class XII boards have done well this year. “Students whose names appear in the first merit list must go to their respective college to submit all necessary documents and pay a fee to confirm admission,” Chaturvedi said.
Admission to public and private colleges is through a centralized online admissions board, with the exception of colleges with minority institute status. Initially, the deadline to register for UG courses was June 9 and the first merit list was to be announced on June 14, but the deadline was extended.
Entries were accepted until June 19 and document verification took place until June 20. Verification of documents was essential to guarantee admission to colleges. Over 3.45 lakh of students have registered for UG courses, but only 2.86 lakh have their documents checked.
