JGU Launches 10th School of Psychology and Counseling with New Undergraduate Degree in Psychology

Sonipat (Haryana) [India], May 6 (ANI / OP Jindal University): OP Jindal Global University is pleased to announce the opening of its tenth school: The Jindal School of Psychology & Counseling.
The school offers a three-year program, culminating in an Honors BA in Psychology.
The Jindal School of Psychology & Counseling (JSPC) will start with the first group of students in August this year. Interested students can apply for the Honors Bachelor of Psychology, designed to ensure that students receive a solid interdisciplinary education in the psychological sciences.
Students will be exposed to the theory, experimentation, and practice of psychology through a range of innovative and rigorous courses taught by a diverse group of research-active faculty. Core courses will expose students to the breadth of psychology, with the ability to tailor higher-level coursework to suit their personal interests and long-term professional goals.
Concrete experience will be gained through the realization of a rigorous and diverse internship program and international exchange programs with eminent departments, schools, universities and institutions. The aim is to give our students a solid foundation in the psychological sciences for careers in research, counseling, education, health, business, community, business, and the private and social sector.
JSPC aims to instill in students learning opportunities in the classroom and in practice. The school places particular emphasis on statistical and research methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative. Students will acquire a strong set of research skills, distinguishing our school from other BA psychology programs in India.
For example, E-Cog: The Emotion & Cognition Psychology Research Center is a psychological research center jointly run by professors from JSPC and the Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities. The center is designed to provide research opportunities for faculty and provide students with educational opportunities rooted in research. Additionally, JSPC plans to open a research lab in August 2022, allowing our students to gain hands-on experience in experimental psychology.

Beyond JSPC, JGU has a vibrant community of psychologists. The Jindal Institute of Behavioral Sciences (JIBS) is made up of faculty members from leading institutions in India and abroad. The institute is dedicated to the understanding, development and application of skills related to human processes through continuous experimentation, research and learning.
JIBS works with top national and international researchers to address critical issues of human behavior from a multidisciplinary perspective. JIBS also sponsors several research centers, including the Center for Victimology and Psychological Studies, the Center for Leadership and Change, the Center for Community Mental Health, and the Center for Criminology and Forensic Studies.
