NEET council to start from next week, medical school admission rules


After the Supreme Court gives the green light to begin the counseling process for the 2021 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) is expected to begin the process in the coming week. The NEET PG counseling process has been delayed for a long time now. Of the total places, 50 percent of postgraduate places and 15 percent of undergraduate places are filled under the All India quota (AIQ). NEET 2021 Council: SAP quota

This will be the first time that the NEET board will have 10 percent of seats reserved for EWS and 27 percent for OBC candidates. The government introduced a quota of 27 percent for the CBO and 10 percent for EWS applicants in medical and dental school seats under the AIQ.

NEET 2021 4-round advisory process

This year, the NEET 2021 Council will take place in four rounds in online mode, the Medical Advisory Committee (MCC) announced earlier. This includes round 1, round 2, mop round, and the lost vacation round).

Seats that were previously returned to the respective states after the completion of the second round 2 will now be filled in the catch-up and lost vacancy, the notice added. In addition, there will be no new registration for candidates in the round of vacant positions. There will be an option to upgrade and free exit, however, only in the first round 1 of the NEET 2021 board. In round 2, there will be no option to upgrade to the sweep round.

Applicants who have joined the seat assigned in Round 2 and subsequent Council rounds will not be allowed to resign or participate in any of the subsequent Council rounds. Candidates who did not join the assigned seat in the second round will be eligible for further counseling rounds subject to forfeiture of the security deposit and re-registration only in the catch-up round, the committee said earlier. in its notification.

All four laps will be carried out for the AIQ seats. All eligible applicants will need to register on the official website After registration, applicants will be asked to choose the college and course they wish to apply to. Based on choice and merit (scores obtained in NEET), students will be awarded colleges. In the first round, if an applicant obtains a college / course of choice, they must submit the fee and check their documents to reserve a place. Otherwise, they can float the seat and wait for the next turn. The vacant seats will be up for grabs in the next round.

Previously, a group of candidates had filed a petition in SC against the reservation policy. Subsequently, the SC expressed doubts about the reservation process regarding the income limit of Rs 8 lakh as the limit to benefit from the EWS quota.
