Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s government today ordered vice-chancellors of state universities and directors of university colleges to start online courses for first-year students who have been admitted to undergraduate courses.
In a letter, the Principal Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, Saswat Mishra, urged vice-chancellors and principals to deliver first-year undergraduate courses in online mode from March 1, 2021.
“As the Covid-19 situation is not fully under control, it is not possible to start physical classes for first-year undergraduates who have recently been admitted. If the education for these students does not start immediately, they will lose academically heavily, ”the letter said.
Note, classroom physical education for undergraduate and final year postgraduate students started from January 11, 2021.
In addition, the first year PG and UG pre-final courses, i.e. the second year in the case of three-year undergraduate courses and the third year in the case of three-year undergraduate courses. four-year undergraduate studies, began taking physical classes from February 10, 2021.
