University of Delhi: over 1.26 Lakh students enroll in UG courses
More than 1.26 lakh of students have registered on Delhi University’s admission portal for undergraduate courses, according to official figures. The total number of registrations stands at 1,26,671, while 37,802 students have paid registration fees, according to data on the portal until 10:30 pm.

Of the paid registrations, 27,539 students belong to the general category, 4,790 to other backward classes, 4,151 to listed castes, 723 to listed tribes and 599 to economically weaker sections.
The total number of aspirants who applied for postgraduate courses stands at 41,704, while paid registrations are 13,984. No less than 5,356 aspirants have registered on the portal for admission to the masters in philosophy and doctorate while 497 paid the fees.
This year, the admission process has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The DU admission portal went live on June 20 and will remain open to aspirants until July 4.
The university hosted a webinar on Tuesday to answer students’ questions about undergraduate admissions. Many students asked the advisers about the delay in their jury results and they were assured that university admissions would not begin until after the results were declared.
The university has still not announced the tentative dates for announcing the thresholds as the results of many councils are pending.
