PATNA: With the publication of a merit list based on the scores obtained in the combined entrance test and the choice of courses and institutions indicated by the applicants, admission to undergraduate courses in arts, sciences and commerce as well that the professional courses taking place in different colleges of the University of Patna (PU) started on Wednesday. Admission to all undergraduate courses in the current academic session (2022-23) based on the first merit list will end on July 31.
Applicants were assigned a college in the award letter. They are expected to upload the award letter from the UP website ( and reach the relevant college at the stated time and date with all required documents and certificates for admission . They have been informed that if they do not report to the assigned center by the date and time indicated, they will forfeit their application for admission and the seat will be awarded to the next candidate in terms of merit, said the dean of the UP student welfare, Anil Kumar. .
The total number of sanctioned places in undergraduate courses is: Patna College (930), Patna College of Science (750), b. College N (1130), Magadh Mahila College (1156) and Vanijya Mahavidyalaya (525).
The three-year professional courses offered at different colleges of PU, to which successful applicants would be admitted subject to availability of places, are Functional English (Patna College and BN College), BCA (BN College, Patna Science College, Magadh Mahila College and Direction of Distance Education), BBA (Patna College, BN College, Magadh Mahila College), Biotechnology (Patna Science College and BN College), Mass Communications (Patna College), Environmental Science (Patna Science College) and social work (Magadh Mahila College).
PG Courses: Online submission of applications for admission to all postgraduate courses in conventional mode and self-funded mode in the session (2022-23) also started on Wednesday. Applicants interested in admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Library and Information Studies (BLIS), and Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) courses in PU also started submitting applications online on Wednesday. The deadline for submitting online applications will end on August 15.
Admission to PG courses in conventional mode is simply based on the marks obtained in the final examination of the course in three years. However, admission to self-financed courses is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test, specifies the dean.
