Stephen Curry, who recently graduated from college, was forced to graduate to avoid his daughter Riley’s embarrassment


Stephen Curry has publicly admitted in an interview that he did not delay his graduation from Davidson College in North Carolina any longer to avoid being embarrassed by his eldest daughter Riley. In fact, the Golden State Warriors superstar credited his 9-year-old daughter with motivating him to rush through his course this year. Notably, Stephen Curry received his graduate degree from Davidson in mid-May this year.

Stephen Curry recently led the Golden State Warriors to their fourth Larry O’Brien Trophy in eight years. Guard Dubs picked up his first-ever Finals MVP after dominating the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals. However, Curry made headlines before earning his fourth ring for his off-court accomplishments.

Curry had enrolled in the spring semester at Davidson to complete his remaining semester. The 2016 unanimous MVP had done his homework amidst world-class dominant defenders at the highest level. As a result, Curry earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology in May while preparing for the Western Conference Finals.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry has revealed he didn’t delay his graduation classes any longer to avoid being embarrassed by his daughter Riley. “My eldest daughter is aging” Curry said in an interview. “I wanted to make sure I didn’t graduate the same year as her..”

The entire press team burst out laughing after hearing the double MVP’s explanation. Incidentally, Curry’s daughter Riley is currently nine years old. Therefore, it would have taken time for him to overtake his father.

Meanwhile, Curry also revealed the real reason behind her graduation. “I knew what I signed up for when I went to Davidson,” he said. “I promised to coach [Bob] McKillop and my family that when I left school in 2009 it would be accomplished – and soon it will be. Hope sooner than later.”
