In a recent communication from the Council of State, colleges were asked to avoid the physical presence of students for the admissions process. In remote areas, where it is not possible to implement the system online, colleges have been urged to proceed to the offline process in accordance with state government standards on Covid-19, including following measures adequate social distancing.

However, students who recently passed their Class XII exams have not yet received hard copies of their grade sheets. Principals said it has not yet been decided how the physical copies of the grade sheets will reach students.

Head of Hinduja College, Dr Minu Madlani, said: “According to the communication from the State Council, the grade sheets of the students in class XII (HSC) will reach us by Friday. Principals have yet to decide how these will reach students. We can either send it by mail or send electronic copies of the scanned note sheets. In case the Council itself sends electronic copies, it will be easier to share them with the students.

Most colleges also have software installed to verify documents online.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of Education also announced a timeline for the Centralized Online Admission (CAP) process for first-year junior college (FYJC) admissions.

As of July 26, students can register for the CAP, complete Part 1 of the forms and ensure that they are verified. From July 27, part 2 of the online forms can be completed. After the Maharashtra State Council announces the results of the SSC (Class X), the final date for submitting nominations will be announced.
